I'm a Chevy loyalist and I've been waiting for years for the return the V8 SS models. My previous car was a 2001 Impala LS. The 2006 Impala styling is sleeker than the previous models and closer inspection reveals the quality and workmanship that is performed by the award winning OSHAWA, Ontario assembly plant. Nice job guys!
The SS emblems and rumble of the tuned duel exhaust once the engine is turned over is the first hint that this isn’t just any 4 door family sedan. The Impala SS rides smooth, has precise steering, and sharp handling. It has the feel of a luxury car and with the fold down rear seats can haul long stuff like a mini van. The V8 has power of a muscle car of days gone past and the rush of full throttle in the Impala SS is a true treat. This car is a stealth warrior and blow away challenges from Camry’s and Accord’s. Chevy says the V8 in this years SS makes it the fastest high-performance Impala SS in Chevy history. 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds -believe it.
The Impala is nicely equipped with many standard options. My Impala included a XM AM./FM/XM satellite radio with disc CD and 8 speaker Bose system, 18” wheels, leather seating, sunroof , and a convenience package (heated outside mirrors, universal home remote, etc).
